Nature is full of surprises, and some animals have abilities that seem like they belong in a comic book. From biological immortality to high-pressure weapons, here are five animals with incredible superpowers.

• The Immortal Jellyfish: This tiny creature can revert its cells back to their earliest form when it gets old or sick. It basically hits a reset button on its life, making it biologically immortal.
• The Pistol Shrimp: This shrimp can snap its claw so fast that it creates a bubble of heat as hot as the surface of the sun. The sound wave is loud enough to stun or kill its prey instantly.
• Wood Frogs: These frogs can literally freeze solid during the winter. Their hearts stop beating and they stop breathing, but when the ice melts in the spring, they thaw out and hop away as if nothing happened.
• Electric Eels: They are not actually eels but a type of knifefish. They can generate a shock of up to 600 volts, which is enough power to knock down a horse or light up a small Christmas tree.
• Axolotls: These smiling salamanders have the ultimate healing factor. They can regrow not just their tails, but also their limbs, heart, spinal cord, and even parts of their brain without any scarring.
